I've seen you walking up to the tree
Just one of the many seeds
Your father and I have planted for you
When you were young
When you were a child
When you were young
and you slept in the wild
I see you crying under the bed
Where your mom used to sleep
Dreaming of filling your head
With stories that would make you feel
Unwanted and insecure
So you would crawl to her lap
Every time something went wrong
Every time you would feel sad
(instrumental)
I can see where you're sleeping
And I can see the dreams you're dreaming
I can see you
I can see you
I can see you there
Staring down on me
I can feel you there
Staring down on me
See me fall
I won't take a chance
I won't take a chance
I will run away
I will run away
I will see you fall
I can see you fall
I washed your feet in the bathtub
You felt the warmth of the water
Is it me you are worried about?
Or is it something else?
Now that I have cared about you
Wherever you went?
Is it something else?
That frightens your mind?
Is it something that moves in the trees
when it's dark?
Follow your heart
And rejoin in the dark
There are people who
Will not hurt a soul
But there is a man
Lurking in the yard
There are faces which
Stare right in your soul
If you disappear
They will come for you
Follow your heart
And rejoice in the dark
Follow your heart
And rejoice in the dark
She is a ghost
She lives in my home
I feed her rats and mice
When she's away
I kiss her eyes and cheeks
When she's asleep
She knows how I love
When she speaks
When I go mad
She stays for a while
When I cry at night
She points at the sky
She says my worries will
Be eaten by time
You are too young to be sick
Your voice is lost in shimmering
Blips and clicks…
You know well, paint that dries on your skin
Slowly kills you and your family
We embrace and you speak of that calamity
That you caused when you slit her throat
Theodore, I can feel the blisters on your hands
And I see the wires coil in your head
Let the sunshine fall on your hands
Mother loves you still no matter what's
In your head
We will sing Our Song, when you come back
My father died, when I was five
My mother cried, she cried all night
Mother don't you worry about me
Mother why do you scream
at the man on TV?
Mother I'll be the best painter you'll see
Mother I'll be the best doctor you'll need
Mother Why
Did my father die?
Mother Why
Did my father die?
Mother do I have my father's smile?
Mother do I have my father's eyes?
Lower down the noise
Hell's about to rain
And the tremble in your voice
Spirals me in Pain
Flashing lights and beeps
What's that alarming sound?
Even after my sleep
The Ghosts will be around
And after I get off my magic pills
And after I get my needed sleep
And after I get off my magic pills
And after I get much needed sleep
And after I get off my magic pills
And after I get much needed sleep
And after I get off my magic pills
Will you take me to your room?
And grant me a wish?
Death will never find me
Death will never find me
I'll get old and blow away
I'll get old and blow away
Song I twine
For yours and mine
In cold I sing
For nearest things
We'll get old and glow
All the time little sunlight
Growing up and
Falling over
Give me size, bitter sunrise
Growing up and
Falling over
Every day I see your hair growing nowhere
If you'll miss me I'll get back and I'll...
Morning smiles over my children
Steal their lips and blow away.
about
We (Tato & Iva) recorded this album mostly in the winter of 2020 and early 2021 in Betania where we lived in isolation, occasionally with friends around. Lyrically this record is inspired by very personal experience of alienation, depression and death of a dear friend, to whom this album is dedicated.
Dark bedroom pop uses sounds ranging from the childlike to the industrial to conjure a dark, inward looking atmosphere. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 19, 2020
